This taco pie recipe is a simple and delicious dinner option, combining the flavors of quesadillas with a hearty filling of ground beef, jalapeños, and cheese. It's easy to prepare and perfect for a weeknight meal!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)

  • 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)

  • 1 package (8 oz) of taco seasoning

  • 1 package of tortillas (flour or corn)

  • 1 cup salsa (optional)

  • Sour cream (for serving, optional)

  • Green onions

  • 1/3 cup of diced red bell peppers

  • Hot sauce of choice ( for serving, optional) I used Taco Bell's hot sauce

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  3. Add the taco seasoning to the beef, along with a splash of water if needed. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

  4. In a baking dish, layer the bottom with tortillas, covering the entire surface.

  5. Add the seasoned ground beef

  6. Sprinkle diced jalapeños and shredded cheese over the beef.

  7. Top with another layer of tortillas, repeating the process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

  10. Serve with any toppings of your choice.
